Access Control Programs Manager
Job Description
Under the direction of the Room’s Division Assistant Director, the Access Control Programs Manager oversees the UCLA On-Campus Housing’s physical access control program and assists the Assistant Director in managing departmental related safety and disaster preparation and resiliency programs.
Major duties include the supervision and training of Access Control student staff, totaling 40-50 FTE, performing community rounds and inspections of On Campus Housing residence halls and auxiliary locations; responding to community safety concerns, correcting issues with electronic access control and door alarm systems, and enforcing University and departmental regulations.
Additional duties also include assisting in the management, evolution, and training/testing of the Departmental Emergency Response Plan and Emergency Action Plans. Act as department representative/liaison to other allied safety departments on campus and responding to departmental emergencies.
Executes other functions and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
Working knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to Staff Personnel Policies regarding recruitment, selection, training, performance evaluations and disciplinary procedures.
Preferred
Skill in management and supervision of multi-functional staff comprised of operational and administrative personnel to include knowledge of required tasks, skills, personnel selection, evaluation and development.
Preferred
Working knowledge of departmental personnel and payroll procedures, such as time reporting and accruals.
Preferred
Skill in writing concise, logical, and grammatically correct English to prepare written schedules, plans, procedures, employee performance evaluations, reports such as budget variances, and other operational/administrative related reports or correspondence.

Ability to work on a personal computer, utilizing software such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Windows.

Ability to conduct on-site safety inspections. These inspections involve walking, standing, climbing (e.g., stairs and ladders), stooping and crouching.

Working knowledge of safety rules, procedures, and concepts as they pertain to working conditions and health and safety standards as they relate to administrative areas.

Knowledge of where to obtain materials, supplies equipment and services utilized in facility.

Ability to accurately assemble material and equipment inventories, and monitor usage of supplies and care of equipment to control costs.

Working experience with physical access control, video surveillance systems and two-way radio systems.

Working knowledge of access control systems such as Onity, Salto or, Blackboard Campus Wide ID System.
