Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Budget, the Housing & Hospitality Services (H&HS) Assistant Director of Finance and Budget is responsible for overseeing the management of financial for H&HS subdivisions, which:
– Employs approximately 2,500 team members
– Manages approximately 60 housing complexes incorporating over 9 million square feet
– Accommodates approximately 16,000 students, faculty, and staff
– Generates over $255 million in revenue annually
– Manages outstanding debt of close to one billion dollars
The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining effective financial reports, which support the budgeting and financial planning of all H&HS’ subdivisions. The incumbent will assist the Director of Finance and Budget with the management and evolution of the budgeting process of H&HS; developing all or portions of the annual budget; developing, consolidating, and reporting on annual budgetary information generated by the operating departments; as well as providing advice and counsel to all H&HS subdivisions in the management of their operating and major maintenance budgets.
In addition to the annual budget and financial reporting responsibilities, under the direction of the Director this position will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of a financial SQL database that consolidates campus financial data from existing UCLA databases (Essbase, Kronos, QDB, etc.) and for developing web-based operating reports to be used by H&HS Managers and Supervisors.
The Assistant Director of Finance and Budget manages Debt for the organization through the long-term (10, 20, and 44 year) Debt Capacity Models for the University of California Housing System (UCHS), Campus Housing System (CHS), Lake Arrowhead, Vending Services, and the Luskin Conference Center, and is instrumental in providing financial analysis and ratio data in support of long-term capital development initiatives.
The target salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $7,916 monthly.

28282 Assistant Director, Creative Services 7/3/2018 Full Time Administration and Professional Services https://ucla.in/2tPMoNH “Under the general direction of the Director of Conferences, Catering and Marketing (CCM), the incumbent provides creative direction for the conceptualization, production, coordination, supervision, monitoring, and approval of the development of a wide variety of marketing and communications materials (printed, electronic, and web-based) for Housing and Hospitality Services (H&HS). Though materials will be heavily focused on the hospitality and administrative units, materials include informational, promotional, and communications pieces for all departments of UCLA Housing and Hospitality Service (H&HS) Division. The hospitality departments include the Luskin Conference Center, the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center and Bruin Woods Family Resort, UCLA Conferences and Catering, the UCLA Guest House, H&HS Administration, the HR and Payroll Center North, H&HS Training & Development, and H&HS Organization Planning and Performance. The incumbent will serve as a liaison and work closely and collaboratively with sister department, Residential Life, and their marketing team to ensure materials geared toward student audience reflect the overall branding and messaging of H&HS.
The Assistant Director, Creative Services oversees and manages the in-house creative team of graphic designers and copywriters, providing direction, leadership, and oversight of creative functions. These functions include graphic design, art direction, copywriting and editing, production, and working with outside vendors such as professional photographers and consultants, as needed. Oversee, direct, manage, and monitor projects from creative inception stage through production, printing, and delivery of final product. Provide consultation and direction on campaigns, strategies, and methods of communication to all clients within H&HS.
Work in close partnership with the Assistant Director, Digital Communications, collaborating on creative direction for all print and digital communications, including websites, web banners and ads, social media, e-blasts, and e-newsletters. Also collaborate closely with other campus partners, including the Residential Life, University Communications, and UCLA Administration.
The starting salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $7,500 monthly, plus UCLA’s generous benefits package.
