Assistant Technical AV Analyst
Job Description
Under the direction of the Housing & Hospitality Services (HHS) Assistant Director of Information Technology (IT), this position supports, maintains, tests, debugs, researches, and assists in implementing complex integrated control and command systems for end users of audio visual venues; programs schedules and content for digital display systems (menus, directional, communications); and will program audio visual components for integration with the integrated systems, including GUI touch panels and control systems.
The Assistant Technical AV Analyst will provide Tier I support in programming, troubleshooting and working with departmental staff in resolving issues.
This position will also provide training services for conference centers’ onsite AV leads in the proper operation, maintenance, and daily care of all A/V hardware, systems, and related services. Will analyze Banquet Event orders’ AV requirement and communicate with conference groups as needed to confirm AV requirements.
Venues for these systems reside in the H&HS meeting spaces, UCLA Luskin Conference Center, UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, H&HS Dining facilities, H&HS conference spaces, and University Apartment North and South locations. Provide specialized AV support for system end users.
The target salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $24 hourly depending on experience.
Job Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting I.T. AV integrated and complex system problems, recommending and/or performing efficient/practical system solutions, and following through to completion.

Knowledge of industry standard practices and procedures as related to A/V presentation services within a conference center and university teaching environment.
Required
Ability to establish and meet milestone deliverable dates for complex integrated command and control systems.
Required
Skill in operating a wide range of audio visual (A/V) equipment such as data projectors, overhead projectors, computers, sound and light systems, radio communication devices, and integrated control systems.
Required
Demonstrated work experience in IT AV equipment network connectivity configurations and troubleshooting; demonstrated ability to achieve AV programming classes deliverables and online training programs.
Preferred
Demonstrated ability to train end users in the use of complex integrated AV systems: development and testing of system components coding projects, integration projects, upgrade and maintenance projects; successfully develop and execute requirements gathering, coding specifications and flow, coding, test plans and testing; standard debugging methodology, deliverables definitions, user test plans, user sign off, implementation plans, cutover plans, fallback contingencies, backup and restore methodology and ongoing maintenance plans
Preferred
Working knowledge of end user office productivity applications including Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook.

Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push and crouch for extended periods of time as required completing job duties. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. for short periods of time for installation, repair, and troubleshooting of I.T. AV hardware systems and network connectivity equipment.

Ability to work after normal business hours and weekends as scheduled, respond to emergency calls as necessary and when appropriate, and participate in the on-call rotation. Demonstrated ability to be punctual for scheduled work.
