Dining Room Supervisor

Job Description

Under the direction of the Food Service Manager, the Dining Room Supervisor oversees all aspects of the dining room operation, including staff scheduling, training, setup, service, breakdown, cleanliness, equipment, furnishings, and ordering of service related food and service supplies for dining, banquets and special events. The Dining Room Supervisor coordinates with kitchen staff to maintain smooth, efficient and plesasant service at all times. Oversees the assignment of the setup of coffee breaks and hors d’ouevres for conference groups.

Must be available to work varying schedules; including evenings, weekends, holidays and over time in order to reflect the business needs of the department.

The target salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $21.00 hourly, dependent on relevant work experience.

Job Qualifications

Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficiently to converse on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, train employees, explain policies, procedures, etc.

Skill and ability to lift items weighing up to fifty pounds such as trays of food, dishes, chafing dishes, etc.
Required

Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push and crouch for extended periods of time as required to complete job duties.
Required

Ability to stand continuously throughout an eight hour shift on carpeted and uncarpeted surfaces.
Required

Working knowledge of the rules of sanitation and safety as applied to kitchen and food service areas.
Required

Working knowledge of correct serving practices and industry standards relative to service.
Required

Ability to push a cart on an intermittent/seldom basis, weighing up to 100lbs.

Must possess a valid CA Driver License. Position is contingent upon an acceptable driving record from California DMV’s “Pull Notice” system.
