Events Sales Specialist (Lake Arrowhead Lodge)
Job Description
The Events Sales Specialist responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other services to groups, weddings and social events, managing accounts, conducting site inspections, and soliciting and generating new business.
The Events Sales Specialist is based out of the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge and sells for all the UCLA Hospitality Group with a focus on the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizing booking and inventory systems such as Delphi and Opera, and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate.
The Events Sales Specialist will also participate in domestic tradeshows and attending networking functions. Additional responsibilities include: accurate forecasting, assisting with billing and collections, providing historical and future data for budgetary purposes. Overseeing all operations and aspects of the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge will be an additional responsibility when assigned as Manager on Duty.
Job Qualifications
Proven successful track record of closing sales and negotiating large dollar volume financial contracts.
Required
Proficiency in the English language sufficient to interact effectively and graciously with clients, and to write clear and grammatically correct business correspondence such as proposals, memorandums, and event orders.

Skill in prioritizing and organizing assignments when faced with a heavy workload, deadlines, and compelling requests for service.

Working knowledge of catering and conferencing business, including menu- planning, current trends in food and entertaining, basic room set-ups and capacities, and audio/visual equipment.
