Human Resources Manager

Job Description

The Human Resources Manager provides day to day leadership to support staff. Responsible for the leadership and management of departmental human resources, training and recruiting of personnel. Develops and implements property-wide strategies that will maximize recruiting, hiring and on-boarding efforts; including retention and recognition programs.

Responsibilities include providing consultative support to the General manager, Directors and supervisors regarding personnel actions, disciplinary actions; disability and workers’ compensation issues; University policies and collective Bargaining Agreements. Reviews time and attendance data to ensure accuracy prior to payroll deadlines. Monitors and tracks personnel and payroll data to provide relevant management information. Prepares reports for management’s review.

The Human Resources Manager serves as liaison with the Luskin Conference Center (LCC) and the HRPC Administration – North and Campus Human Resources, to provide client services on job classification and compensation issues to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Performs comparative analysis of departmental/organizational staffing patterns based on current and projected growth. Ensures wage compliance with union agreements; verify eligibility for merit increases and Staff Awards. Interprets salary data, performance, and classification history/analysis and makes salary increase recommendations to management based on policy. Reviews requests for updates, reclassifications, equity increases and potential salary discrepancies, stipends, temporary reassignments and contract positions prior to submission to the HR & Payroll Center.

Requires prior experience in Employee Relations in a unionized environment and strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in hospitality preferred.
