Lead Dining Room Server
Job Description
Under the direction of the Dining Room Supervisor and Director of Food Services of the UCLA Conference Center and BRUIN WOODS Family Resort, oversee certain aspects of the dining room operation, including setup, service, breakdown, cleanliness, equipment, and furnishings. Oversee the Dining Room Servers who serve approximately 30,000 guests during the conference season and 4,000 guests during our BRUIN WOODS season. Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain smooth, efficient and pleasant service at all times. Participate in setting up the dining room, serve food and beverages to the guests and clearing and cleaning tables in the dining room. Oversee the setup of coffee breaks and hors d’ouevres for conference groups.
UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center is located 100 miles east of the UCLA campus in the San Bernardino Mountains (https://binged.it/2JQ66jf).
Must be available to work varying schedules; including evenings, weekends, holidays and over time in order to reflect the business needs of the department.
The target salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $17.23 hourly, dependent on relevant work experience.
Job Qualifications
1. Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficiently to converse on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, train employees, explain policies, procedures, etc.

2. Skill and ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pound such as trays of food, dishes, chafing dishes, etc.

3. Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push and crouch for extended periods of time as required to complete job duties.

4. Ability to stand continuously throughout an eight hour shift on carpeted and uncarpeted surfaces.
