Principal Housekeeping Manager
Job Description
Under the direction of the Building Manager and Area Residence Hall Manager, the Principal Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions for a multi-unit residence hall facility, which houses over 2,100 residents and up to 662,000 sq. feet of residential and non-residential common areas. Responsible for daily supervision of between 16-37 full-time career housekeepers, up to 3 full-time career Custodial Supervisors and up to 30 seasonal casual staff. Ensure housekeeping/maintenance standards are met and exceed customers’ expectations. Assist in preparation and management of a departmental labor budget of up to approximately $1.1 million and expenditures of $900,000. Responsible for the monthly management and inventory of all supplies/expenditures. Provide on-the-job training to staff, including proper use of chemicals and equipment, and ensure compliance with published safety standards. Incumbent may be required to drive campus vehicle to perform job duties.
