Job Description

Under the supervision of Assistant Directors and Executive Steward, the Dining Services Project Analyst, works as a team member in the Food and Beverage, Facilities and Operations Office within Housing and Hospitality Services Food and Beverage Administration. This office is responsible for overseeing the Food Safety, Workplace Safety, Sustainability and CPR/AED/First Aid and Epinephrine programs. The Project Analyst manages the administrative functions of the Diabetes Prevention Program including database management and leading cohort meetings by providing education, training, and delivery of healthy lifestyle interventions. Other responsibilities include Major Maintenance–analyzing past purchases and working with dining managers and Housing Maintenance to determine equipment needs–and Construction Project oversight, the upkeep of Dining Services physical assets management, fleet management inventory and maintaining inventory controls over equipment and small wares within the division. The division of Housing and Hospitality Services Food and Beverage is comprised of Residential Dining, 4 anchor “all you care to eat” restaurants, 4 boutique restaurants, a large scale commissary and bakery, a campus wide vending operation, Meeting Rooms Services, the Geffen Academy, Luskin Conference Center, UCLA Catering, and Plateia restaurant and lounge. The Dining Services Project Analyst is responsible for analyzing department processes and policies to ensure continual improvements and operational efficiency; providing input to management in the development of the strategic plan and the anticipation of future growth and to maintain fiscal soundness. Develop and implement standardization of department policies, processes and information flow throughout Food and Beverage unit; working with Executive Management Team to create Six Sigma process improvements. This position also supports additional programs as deemed necessary for the effective operation of the department.

5. Demonstrated working knowledge of advanced computer functioning: Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Access, AMS, VISIO or equivalent software packages.

6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all UCLA staff members and administrators; maintain diplomatic relationships with the public in a setting with constant contact with clients.

8. Demonstrated skill and knowledge in data collection/verification to insure the accuracy of the reports generated from the systems.

17. Experience and knowledge with food service facility and equipment issues, including understanding operational needs, available equipment, service ware, smallwares, and other decor items. Plus, experience with renovation and opening projects.
