Residential Service Mechanic

Job Description

Under the direction of the UAS Field Operations Manager and with assistance from the Stationary Operating Engineer, the Residential Service Mechanic will diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components of residential appliances like dishwashers, refrigeration units, ice machines, stoves/ovens, garbage disposals and microwaves, etc. The Residential Service Mechanic is responsible for installing, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems equipment, instruments and controls, and performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks on a regular and continuous basis, including plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repairs for other residential equipment, appliances, and furnishings. The Residential Service Mechanic will perform duties using appropriate safe practices, work methods and procedures; write concise, accurate reports; and complete log/records of work or service performed. Duties include frequently loading and unloading and installation of mechanical equipment from ground level and elevated surfaces with or without assistance. The Residential Service Mechanic will interact with various department contacts and University personnel while performing duties and will be required to maintain a courteous and professional manner at all times.
