Job Description

Reporting to the UCLA LCC General Manager, the Rooms Director provides overall leadership, guidance, and direction for the Rooms Division Department in the LCC. The Rooms Director has responsibility for providing exceptional, professional, 24 hour/day, 4-star front office, bell and concierge, and housekeeping services to international, national, local, and campus guests. This position is also responsible for the execution of the day to day operations; implement University programs and manages the operations of the division in a manner consistent with proper policies and procedures to ensure a high level of quality and customer satisfaction. This position must regularly inspect cleanliness of facilities, maintain quality standards and take corrective or preventive action where necessary.

The Rooms Director is responsible for short and long term planning; recommend budget and manage expenses within approved budget for rooms division including front office, bell staff, housekeeping, maintenance and reservations. Builds forecasts and objectives to meet/exceed management expectations. This position is expected to participate in strategic planning and decision-making through various meetings and committees, as well as developing, communicating and implementing policies and procedures. This position also oversees refurbishment projects related to rooms, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment; also participates in property safety committee and serves as an emergency responder for the property. ”

Represent UCLA at networking functions and trade shows. Participate actively in distinguished memberships, associations, and organizations that increase the visibility of the department within the University, the community, and the hospitality industry. Negotiate and write detailed contracts, determine clients’ needs and produce written proposals that include theme delineation, décor, and menu and service requirements. Create bookings in the Delphi Sales and catering system. Assist the Accounting department with billing and Accounts Receivable. Establish other services and products that will generate additional revenue for the department. Provide exemplary customer service skills while interacting with team members, meeting planners, and guests in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s license.
