Senior Systems Analyst
Job Description
Under the direction of the Housing & Hospitality Services (HH) Assistant Director of Information Technology (IT), the incumbent will provide advanced technical design, implementation and support for a rapidly growing and evolving virtual server, virtual desktop, and network infrastructure (network hardware, monitoring and security software, vlans and subnets) and other business systems for HH operations and administration.
HH information system consists of physical and virtual servers and workstations, at least 600 clients. The servers and business applications supported by this position are mission critical to the organization.
The successful applicant will be responsible for server hardware and software systems including server hosts and storage hardware used by VMWare virtual infrastructure for servers and desktops.
Work entails hardware configuration, firewall rules configuration, software implementation, performance and security monitoring, PCI security, hardware and software maintenance upgrades, and responding as necessary to maintain and support 24/7 operations. Includes the design, installation, and maintenance of virtual server and virtual desktop environments. The position requires Microsoft and/or VMWare certification(s).
The individual will also be responsible for special IT system implementation projects as assigned.
UCLA Housing & Hospitality IT team members work onsite, hybrid, or fully remote, depending on requirements of the IT role.
The UCLA Housing & Hospitality Information Technology department consists of teams responsible for desktop support, administrative business systems, residential business systems, audio visual systems, administrative networking systems, residential networking systems, websites, and collaborates with a variety of UCLA campus departments. UCLA H&HS IT includes a Student Technology Center that supports UCLA residents during the academic year, and UCLA Conference guests during the summer.
The H&H departments supported include H&HS Administration business offices, Student Technology Center, Dining Services, Housing Services, Rooms Division, Housing Maintenance & Project Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Vending Services, Conference & Catering, University Apartments. H&H IT supports the UCLA hotel properties ? UCLA Meyer & Renee Luskin Conference Center, UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, UCLA Guest House, and Summer Conference guests in our residential properties.
