Job Description

Sweep and mop floors, collect and dispose trash, recycling, clean restrooms and re-stock supplies, dust and wax furniture, vacuum and shampoo carpet, wash walls and clean blinds, perform floor restoration, strip and wax, and polish brass, chrome and other metal fixtures in restroom, offices and apartment units. Operate trash compactor, street sweeper, carpet extractor, and truck mounted cleaning equipment. Responsible for daily supervision of between 17-19 full-time career Senior Custodians, 2 Heavy Equipment Operators, and up to 10 seasonal casual staff. Ensure housekeeping/maintenance standards of meeting and exceeding customer expectations are kept. Provide on-the-job training to staff, including proper use of chemicals and equipment, and ensure compliance with published safety standards. Travel to and from the various complexes, to and from the various University Apartments offices as well as to and from a variety of meetings held on the campus.
