Volunteer at the L.A. Food Bank

For over a decade, H&H Team Members have been showing the community what being a True Bruin is all about by volunteering at the L.A. Food Bank during the holiday season.

Give back to the community during the UCLA Winter Holiday Closure and receive paid release time!

Limited On-Site, Stacked Parking. Street Parking Also Available.

  • Volunteers MUST hold CAREER appointments — limited appointments are not eligible.
  • Volunteer shifts run from 9:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch break.
  • Participants will receive 8 hours of paid release time.
  • Bring your own lunch and water.
  • Wear comfortable, warm clothing. Closed-toed shoes are MANDATORY.
  • Volunteers MUST provide their own transportation. Carpooling is encouraged!
  • Volunteers who do not report for their shift cannot participate next year. Please be a TRUE BRUIN and honor your time commitment!


  1. SIGN UP ONLINE to reserve your spot (limited spaces available). Sign-ups will close once the 100 spots are filled, or by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 — whichever occurs first.
  2. COMPLETE REGISTRATION on the L.A. Food Bank website by Friday, December 13, 2019. Password is provided on the confirmation page and the email you will receive after completing Step 1.
  3. PRINT OUT the two release forms and the email you will receive from L.A. Food Bank after completing Step 2. Be sure to BRING THEM WITH YOU on the day you volunteer. (The L.A. Food Bank’s confirmation email will instruct you to complete this step, but if you agree to their terms and conditions when signing up and registering online, this step is not necessary)
  4. Confirm with your supervisor that you plan to volunteer over the winter closure.
